Google’s New App Helps You Save Data And Earn Some Too

Rumour has it that Google is working on a new Android app that will help users keep track of their mobile data usage and also block unwanted background data.

Named “Google Triangle”, the app is currently being tried out in Philippines. According to Google, Triangle is a new app being tried out in the Philippines that helps you better manage your data usage and block unwanted background data. The company hasn’t yet announced when the app will be available to other countries.

The idea of a Data Saver app isn’t really something new or novel. Pretty much all recent versions of Android have the capability to track and manage data usage. Other apps such as Opera Max and Onavo Protect have offered the same features plus free VPN for quiet a while now.

Based on the current offering though, it seems like Google plans to use reward-based advertising through the app. Currently, the users in Philippines are being offered free data on certian service provides if they use or download apps such as Pinterest and Grab.
